Tomorrow's Tigers is the major fundraising project that we devised and curated for WWF (World Wildlife Fund). The project, which began in 2018, features specially commissioned, limited edition art rugs by 12 internationally renowned artists. Tomorrow's Tigers aims to raise awareness and funds in support of the Tx2 goal - a global commitment to double the number of tigers in the wild by 2022. This is in response to the plight of the wild tiger, whose numbers have shrunk by a shocking 95% over the past century.
Taking inspiration from the fabled Tibetan tiger rug, as well as the splendour of tigers in the wild, we invited each artist to create a unique art rug design, which were then fabricated by rug specialists Christopher Farr and their team of master craftsmen in India using traditional techniques. Each of the available rugs is handmade and sold to an edition of 10.
The project launched at Sotheby's, London as a selling exhibition in January 2019 and went on to be exhibited in the Academicians' Room at the Royal Academy of Arts, London from 2019-2020 before returning to Sotheby's in 2022. The exhibition has generated over £1 million to date to support the vital conservation work of WWF.
