PANDAMONIUM 1: WWF, 2009-2012

Overview

Pandamonium was a series of fundraising art initiatives that we devised and curated for WWF-UK where art simultaneously articulated the environmental challenges we face, engaged new audiences to the charity and changed perceptions around environmental communication.

The first edition of Pandamonium invited 16 acclaimed British artists and designers to create innovative and memorable artworks out of old WWF 'Panda' collection boxes - helping to spread the charity's message that the world's rapidly changing climate is affecting people, wildlife and the natural world. These original artworks were then shown in the windows of Selfridges, London before being auctioned off.

The second edition, held in London's Hyde Park, challenged 25 leading contemporary minds from the fields of art and design to create 'performative wearable sculptures' to help raise awareness and vital funds in support of WWF-UK. Over 20 specially commissioned, thought-provoking artworks were unveiled and showcased to a sold-out crowd during and open-air event in Hyde Park. Each piece resonated with key environmental concerns whilst remaining true to the artist's oeuvre.
