To celebrate Ikon Gallery’s 50th anniversary we were invited by Jonathan Watkins, Director of Ikon Gallery, to collaborate on producing and coordinating an exhibition and major art auction at Sotheby’s, London, of works generously donated by internationally renowned artists who had previously exhibited at the Birmingham-based institution. Essential to the gallery’s future, all funds raised were in support of Ikon’s 50th Anniversary Endowment Fund, dedicated to the gallery’s artistic programme and the commissioning of new artwork.
Ikon is an internationally acclaimed art gallery situated in central Birmingham. Housed in a magnificent neo-gothic school building, it is an educational charity and works to encourage public engagement with contemporary art and it offers free entry to all.
The auction raised over £750,000 for their Endowment Fund.
