I was also fascinated by the fact that the colours black and gold are natural pigments extracted from seaweed: black is about the absence of light and gold is the opposite - pure sunlight. Besides, I have been looking for an excuse to use gold in my work for a long time. This experience has given me a new and exciting possibility.” - Mona Hatoum
