ART FOR YOUR WORLD CAMPAIGN: WWF-UK, 2021

Art For Your World was launched in 2021 and is a campaign devised and produced by Artwise for WWF, to mobilise and unite the art world in the fight against the climate crisis.

From practising artists to commercial galleries, cultural centres to museums and beyond, Art For Your World is a wide call to action for the cultural sector to come together with a united voice to say that climate change matters and we must act now.

The funds raised by Art For Your World will be used to support key areas of WWF’s work that contribute to combatting dangerous climate change, such as: halting deforestation; supporting communities; restoring trees and forests; replanting seagrass meadows; protecting endangered species; and promoting sustainable lifestyles.

Highlights from the Campaign

Tracey Emin, Jadé Fadojutimi, Anish Kapoor, Vera Lutter, Jessica Rankin, Bob and Roberta Smith, Gavin Turk and Rose Wylie were among the contemporary artists pledging their commitment to the Art For Your World movement by donating a work for sale at the Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Day Auction, with proceeds donated to WWF.  The online auction took place from 8-15 October 2021 and raised over £1 million.

In October 2021, Art For Your World released three specially commissioned, limited edition prints by artists Chila Kumari Singh Burman, Heather Phillipson and Bob and Roberta Smith. The prints are available for sale here

During the months of September and October 2021, Art For Your World collaborated with W1 Curates. The eight auction works and three limited edition prints were wrapped around the facade of the Flannels building in a stunning digital installation on London's iconic Oxford Street.

On the 5th of November 2021, museums were invited to draw attention to Art For Your World during COP26 by turning their buildings green, if they had the infrastructure to do so sustainably. On the same day, participants simultaneously posted about Art For Your World on Instagram, in order to raise awareness and unity within the sector. Art galleries also supported by donating portions of their November sales to Art For Your World.

Artist Support Pledge also joined Art For Your World supporters and turned green for the entire month of November, asking for their large community of artists and makers to donate a percentage of their sales to the campaign.
