Renowned for her original design language and use of the latest technological processes, Zaha Hadid has created a complex flowing fabric piece inspired by dynamic natural forces and structures – specifically, that of snow and ice. Hadid has magnified their physical properties allowing us to see for our own eyes the intricate detail of frozen water, normally reserved for viewing only through an atomic force microscope. By amplifying the delicate construction Frozen Aura and revealing its atmospheric properties to the naked eye, the piece reminds us how purposeful and deliberate the natural world is even at a molecular level. During the performance a ballerina poetically completed the experience through her graceful movements while wearing the piece, reminding us that although something may seem static, biology, function and growth is in a constant state of flux.
