Celebrated sculptor and draughsman, Nigel Hall has exhibited internationally and is widely collected. His first tubular aluminium sculpture was made in 1970 and in subsequent years he explored the ways in which tubular construction alters the viewer's perception of space, in site-specific works. More recently, his sculptures have been less minimal in feel, tending towards stronger, more solid forms. A solo exhibition of his watercolours and drawings was held at the Royal Academy in 2011 as part of the Artists' Laboratory Series. Hall was elected to the Royal Academy in 2003, and in 2017 was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of the Arts, London.

Hall's work is also held in public collections including Tate; MoMA; Kunsthaus, Zurich; Nationalgalerie, Berlin; Tokyo Metropolitan Museum, Tel Aviv Museum and Musee National d'Art Moderne, Paris.
