Subodh Gupta
Subodh Gupta is one of India's most renowned contemporary artists. His installations have been exhibited in London, Paris, New York, Beijing, Sao Paolo, Seoul and Tokyo, among other cities worldwide. Gupta is known for transforming everyday objects into ambitious installations that engage with his childhood, his home country, and universal themes such as migration, globalization, and even the cosmos. His installations often comprise objects, such as stainless steel buckets, pots, plates, and cooking utensils, that evoke either the exotic or the quotidian, depending on the viewer's perspective.
Solo exhibitions have included The Mead Gallery in Coventry (2017); Famous Studios, Mumbai (2016); SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah (2016); Hauser & Wirth, Somerset (2016); and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (2015).
